We see ourselves as a Learning Community – not in the sense of what you can simply google or ask an AI, but by learning from each other’s experiences, stories, and diverse backgrounds. It’s the personal insights, the real-life journeys, and the shared reflections that make our community so valuable.
The IWiL Alumnae Community empowers female leaders to grow sustainably, embrace lifelong learning, and thrive in a vibrant network built on mutual inspiration, peer support, and diversity – united by the shared experience of the mentoring program
Our sub-goals to achieve this central mission are...
Fostering sustainable careers: The community supports former mentees in integrating what they have learned from the program into their professional lives and continuing their development.
Creating a platform for exchange: It provides space for open dialogue on leadership challenges, best practices, and individual success stories.
Peer support & mutual inspiration: Members actively support each other with professional, strategic, and personal challenges, growing together through feedback – for example, when making important decisions or navigating change processes.
Acting as multipliers for diversity: Alumnae take on role-model functions within companies and society, promoting diversity and inclusion as ambassadors whose impact extends far beyond their own networks.
Lifelong learning: The community serves as a driver for continuous learning, a source of fresh impulses, and a place where members can learn from and inspire one another over the long term.
Specifically related to mentoring:
Ensuring lasting impact: Strengthening the sustainable impact of mentoring through experience-sharing and concrete implementation.
Becoming mentors themselves: Alumnae can act as mentors for new cohorts, helping to strengthen and evolve the program over time.
Building an active support network: Developing a strong alumnae network that eases the path into leadership positions and positions members as multipliers for a more inclusive leadership landscape.
To bring these goals to life, we offer...
The annual Kick-Off in March – a chance to reconnect with fellow alumnae, meet your former mentors, welcome new mentees, and start building meaningful relationships with our personal members and other inspiring leaders.
The annual IWiL Summit in autumn – a highlight of the year to exchange ideas, celebrate achievements, and set new goals together with leaders and alumnae from diverse fields.
Digital speaker sessions and webinars – featuring trailblazing women, role models, and experts from science, politics, business, sports, and society.
Regional meet-ups – informal gatherings designed to spark inspiration, foster open dialogue, and strengthen local connections.
Special events – such as Christmas celebrations and summer gatherings, offering a relaxed atmosphere to deepen personal and professional bonds.
Networking platforms on LinkedIn and WhatsApp – to stay connected, exchange experiences, and give and receive support throughout the year. These platforms are not only about bringing people together, but about truly connecting them through shared interests, values, and experiences.
How You Shape the Community
